What this site helps you decide
Our guides connect lighting, furniture, screening and material care. These are not separate styling exercises: a screen changes wind exposure, a chair changes the walking route, and a lamp changes how private a corner feels. We encourage small tests before purchases and manageable routines after installation.
What this site cannot assess
We do not inspect buildings, calculate balcony capacity, approve attachments, design electrical installations or certify products. Illustrative diagrams are not construction drawings and are not to scale unless expressly stated. Building rules, local law and professional advice take priority over decorative suggestions.
How to read the examples
Photographs support discussions of layout and atmosphere. They are not proof that every item shown is correctly installed, structurally suitable or available to buy. Product suitability must be checked against the manufacturer’s instructions and the conditions of your own location.
Reference points, not endorsements
Relevant reference bodies mentioned across the guides include IEC, DarkSky International, Electrical Safety First, the National Fire Protection Association, the Royal Horticultural Society, the Met Office and NOAA. Standards, consumer-safety organisations and local authorities answer different kinds of questions. Mentioning them does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
Useful starting points include DarkSky International, Electrical Safety First, the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Weather Service. Consult locally applicable requirements before acting.
Corrections and questions
If something appears unclear or inaccurate, email the page address and explain the concern. Please do not send sensitive personal information, access codes or documents containing private building details. The contact composer helps organise a plain-text note without submitting it to a server.
